There is a particular pleasure that comes with cruising aboard a smaller ship. Hosting an average of just 350 passengers, Aegean Odyssey is no ‘floating city’. She is small enough to sail rivers and put into the more characterful ports inaccessible to the ‘mega-ships’, the service is more personal and you get plenty of time to interact with the onboard experts. Yet on the other hand, she is large enough to offer a superb selection of amenities, including two dining venues, several comfortable lounges and bars, a relaxing spa centre and well-stocked library. Cabins are spacious, modern and intelligently designed, and 39 cabins across a range of categories (including balcony) are set aside for solo travellers at low supplement.
Named after the Scottish home of the Royal Family, Balmoral is a classically styled ship exuding a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and a warming, home-from-home feel. Capable of carrying up to 1,350 guests in pure comfort, Balmoral is the newest and largest ship in the Fred. Olsen fleet but never feels overcrowded, ensuring those on board always enjoy ample space and receive Fred.’s renowned personal, attentive service. But despite being the largest in the Fred. Olsen fleet, Balmoral is still small enough to take you through the scenic and winding Fjords of Norway, as well as being able to sail down size restricted European waterways such as the Kiel Canal, ensuring guests on board will benefit from Fred. Olsen's smaller ship experience. A range of dining options are available on Balmoral, with mouth-watering menus to suit all tastes on offer in the elegant restaurants; and the fantastic selection of bars and lounges are perfect for enjoying a pre-dinner drink, sumptuous afternoon tea and superb entertainment. The Marquee Bar has its very own evening Gin Menu, including a variety of premium gins; while the Observatory Lounge offers spectacular panoramic views from the bow of the ship and a glass dance floor designed for late-night entertainment. The broad spiral staircase at the heart of the ship is one of Balmoral's key features, as is the stunning walkway towards the beautiful Ballindalloch Restaurant, where you can admire photographs and paintings from Fred.’s private collection. There’s also a comfy pub with occasional live music or comedy, cabaret and shows in the Neptune Lounge, and the serene Atlantis Spa, where guests can treat themselves to a range of treatments from manicures to massages – the perfect holiday indulgence. Balmoral also features two swimming pools and bubbling Jacuzzis, ideal for keeping fit and for relaxing in the sunshine.
Black Watch is sleek, intimate and harks back to the days when cruise ships were revered for their style and charm. Focusing on providing a traditional cruise experience rather than gimmicks such as climbing walls and on board bumper cars, Black Watch feels friendly and familiar. This is further enhanced by the attentive staff who strive to offer service with a smile and remember the important things, such as your name and favourite tipple and how your like your eggs cooked at breakfast. Able to accommodate up to 804 guests, there are a selection of suites and ocean view rooms to choose from, providing ample room and everything you need for a comfortable enjoyable and stress-free stay; and spacious public rooms bathed in natural light and retaining the elegant style of a traditional cruise ship. Black Watch has four restaurants options, including the stylish Glentanar Restaurant and beautiful Orchid Room which has a wonderful oriental look and feel. Before dinner you could delve into a good book in the well-stocked library, relax in the warmth on the Sun Deck, sample a great selection of premium gin at the Marquee Bar, or even devour a premium afternoon tea. Don’t miss the extravaganza of music, dance and comedy at evening shows in the Neptune Lounge. Loved by Fred. Olsens's staff and guests alike, beautiful Boudicca oozes a sense of class, style and elegance not seen or experienced on modern megaships and floating theme parks. On board Boudicca, like on all Fred. Olsen ships, the emphasis is on providing an intimate and more traditional cruise experience, ensuring our guests disembark after their relaxing holiday as friends, not just customers. Up to 880 guests can cruise in pure comfort on board Boudicca, enjoying ample space to relax in fantastic restaurants, lounges and bars. There is also a fully equipped fitness centre for those feeling energetic, and for those who like to indulge - a visit to the Atlantis Spa is a must Enjoy yourself with delicious dinners in the Four Seasons, Tintagel or the Heligan Room restaurants; take a dip in one of the three heated pools; watch a show in the Neptune Lounge; simply relax on the Sun Deck; enjoy al fresco dining at The Grill and much more without ever feeling overcrowded. Cruising alongside hundreds, not thousands of like-minded travellers also ensures that staff on board Boudicca can provide Fred. Olsen’s renowned personal, attentive service, catering to your every want and need. Boudicca sails from ports all around the UK, and thanks to her new Terrace Balcony Rooms, offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy unforgettable sights and experiences as you cruise the world’s most spectacular waterways to a string of stunning destinations.
Braemar's large windows illuminate the ship's interiors with natural light and provide spectacular views; while polished wooden fixtures, shining brass fittings, decadent fabrics and carefully designed decor assume the feel of a traditional country house hotel. Capable of comfortably accommodating up to 929 guests, Braemar has a unique, intimate feel with friendly staff offering a fantastic level of personal service. Catering to your every want and need, they will learn your name and your favourite tipple, how you prefer your steak and perfectly prepare your breakfast every morning. Perfectly built for warm weather cruising, Braemar's cascading stern and large deck area provides ample space within which to relax and enjoy the sunshine. And owing to her shallow draft, Braemar is able to sail down shallow and meandering rivers and waterways and get closer to the hearts of cities that larger cruise ships simply cannot reach. On board Braemar you’ll find a superb selection of restaurants, bars and lounges offering sumptuous cuisine, a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and fantastic entertainment. Enjoy a delicious buffet-style lunch at the Palms Café and a expertly prepared, five-course a la carte dinner at the Thistle and Grampian Restaurants; refresh at the Marquee poolside bar in the sunshine; or perhaps enjoy cosy drink in the familiar surroundings of Morning Light Pub. Traditional afternoon tea in the Observatory Lounge is not-to-be-missed, and be sure to take in a show in the Neptune Lounge. One of the focal points on Braemar is a beautifully painted, five-deck high Atrium which leads to the fully-equipped Fitness Centre, Palms Café, Coral Club and the Thistle Restaurant; while the cascading decks at the stern enhance the ship’s elegant profile and offer stunning vistas no matter which outside deck you’re on.
